How to Buy

Making a purchase from Bathroom Taps UK - James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd -  could not be easier. Simply browse our product range and select the products you wish to buy, adding them into your electronic "shopping cart". Once you have completed your product selection, simply click on the "Checkout" link and proceed to a secure section where we require a few details in order to complete your order.

Acceptance of Your Order

When you place your order, Bathroom Taps UK - James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd - will send you an email to confirm that we have accepted your order. Once this email has been generated and sent, a contract will exist and you are then legally bound by this contract. This allows us to confirm that we have the product in stock and where possible the credit/debit card (if applicable) used to make payment is authorised.

James Hargreaves Group reserves the right to refuse an order or part of an order at any time prior to delivery. We may also request additional information prior to accepting an order.

All orders must be paid in full before delivery is taken. In the event goods are supplied before payment has been made, James Hargreaves will continue to own, and reserve the right to repossess any goods until payment has been received and cleared in full. Prices shown on product pages are inclusive of VAT, which is 20% for all orders within the U.K. or European Union. (James Hargreaves VAT Registration Number: 633 711 751)


Orders might be subject to a Delivery Charge, depending on the value of the order. Delivery is to anywhere in the UK, however please note that there may be an extra charge for some deliveries made to areas of Scotland, Scottish Isles, Channel Isles and Northern Ireland. If you live in these areas we would advise you call for further details before placing your order.

Standard delivery is 3-5 full working days (Monday to Friday) on standard items.

Customers are notified of the despatch dates for these items. When you place your order, we will notify you as to the despatch date via email. Please note that we can not specify the actual date and time of delivery. James Hargreaves Group accepts no liability whatsoever in respect of late or delayed deliveries.

Our team at James Hargreaves Group recommends that you do not arrange to have your items installed until they have been delivered and checked for any damages or faults. In the unlikely event that goods are received as damaged or parts missing, then Bathroom Taps UK - James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd - will rectify this as quickly as possible. Please note that all goods are packaged and sealed direct from manufacturer, therefore James Hargreaves will not be held responsible for any costs incurred if goods are received as damaged or parts missing.

Deliveries must be signed for. Therefore, please ensure that someone will be available at your delivery address to sign for and check the goods. 

All deliveries must be checked on arrival, and any damages are to be reported within 7 working days of receipt of your order. Do not accept damaged goods. If unsure, sign the delivery document as "unchecked". In addition please do not install damaged goods as installation is acceptance that the product is in good condition.

Accuracy of Information

Bathroom Taps UK - James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd - has taken the greatest care to ensure that the description, specifications and pricing of products listed on our site are an accurate representation of those supplied by the manufacturer, there are occasions where errors may occur or details may have subsequently changed.

If this does arise then Bathroom Taps UK - James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd - is not bound to honour any orders made relying on this information. In the event of a mistake you will be contacted with a full explanation and a corrected offer.


All products sold at Bathroom Taps UK - James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd - carry a full manufacturer's guarantee as stated on the products that we sell. Please note that the guarantee will not be valid if the product is not installed by a registered installer (where applicable). 

Cancellations, Faulty or Damaged Goods & Returns Procedure

Under the Consumer Rights Directive, EU/UK customers are entitled to a 14 day cooling off period i.e. the right to cancel the contract of purchase. Notification of the cancellation must be received in writing within 14 working days; starting from the day after the goods are received. These regulations dictate that we will refund the cost of the item(s) ordered and, in addition to this, the original despatch charge.
James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchants) Ltd expects the customer to return the respective goods in a perfect resalable condition.

If for any reason the goods you receive are faulty or damaged in any way we will be happy to exchange the items or offer a full refund. Please contact our eCustomer Service team on 01282 722 000 or via email at support@james-hargreaves.co.uk. Our lines are open from 08:00am-05:00pm, Monday to Friday (GMT). The damaged product will be replaced with the same item as soon as possible.  An alternative product will be offered in cases where stocks are no longer available. Due to the nature of this web site, please be aware we might have very limited stocks for the items sold online.

Should a replacement not be required please notify us and we will refund the cost of the damaged products. Please note that it may be necessary to provide photographic evidence of the damaged goods or in more severe cases, we may choose to collect the damaged products from you for Quality Review investigation.
Where goods are believed to be faulty, please notify us of your intent to return the goods in writing, by fax or by email (see RETURNS PROCEDURE below). All goods believed to be faulty will be required for Quality Review. Once this item(s) have been received, a Quality Review Investigation will take place which can take 5-7 working days to complete. Correspondence will be made directly with the customer.

Items must be unused and in a perfect resalable condition, accompanied by a valid Order Reference and the Returns Authorisation Code. This Returns Authorisation Code will be supplied by the Customer Service team upon notification of the intention to return the goods.
All returns should be wrapped securely in the same packaging in which the items were originally received, with the Returns Authorisation Code clearly displayed on the exterior.

If the original packaging has been disposed of or is no longer suitable, goods must be wrapped in appropriate packaging to ensure that the goods arrive with us in their original condition. We reserve the right to refuse a refund/exchange for damages caused by insufficient packaging.
We recommend that returns are made via recorded delivery and/or that a proof of postage is obtained, in the unlikely event that we do not receive the parcel.

Where an order has qualified for a discount to be applied to a product this discount shall no longer apply if upon returning part of the order the resulting value is below the threshold for the discount to apply. The discounted products must therefore either be returned or they shall be charged at the full retail price.

Exchanges will be processed within 3 working days from the date the returned goods are received, if requested so and if the items are still in-stock. Postage charges will be applied for any exchanges; these will be charged at the standard rate.

Where a refund is due, this will be processed onto the credit/debit card, or wired back into the respective account, with which the purchase was made, within 5 working days from the date the returned goods are received. Refunds may take 5-7 working days to reflect against an account, depending on the bank.
